School Closure Contact List - Local TV Stations

As your own Local Education Agency (LEA), you are responsible for school closures independent of the Department of Education's (DOE) decision. When choosing to close your school due to weather or an emergency, be sure to alert local TV stations so that all parents and families are made aware. The following list includes contact information for local TV stations and was originally compiled and shared by New Vision for Public Schools.

Out of the 159 New York City charter schools currently enrolling students for 2012-13, 130 (82%) responded to the New York City Charter School Center's survey about their lottery application rates. Based on survey data, the Charter Center estimates that New York City charter schools received a total of 133,000 applications for 14,600 new seats.
